Class Policies
Our Dock 6 Pottery Classroom is a ceramics studio and learning space specializing in handmade pottery. We believe pottery should be enjoyed visually and tactilely, not simply as another household ornament.
Guests looking to start their clay journey and learn the basics of the ceramic process can get hands-on experience through the many workshops and classes held at Dock 6 Pottery Classroom! Enthusiasts can benefit from our beginner-friendly clay classes, with plenty of personal instruction from the studio's talented artists. Classes will guide students through the basics of wheel-throwing and/or hand-building techniques.
No minimum enrollment!
We will run classes no matter how small! Whether you sign up solo or with a group, we will run our clay classes until we reach maximum capacity! Our classes will run with 1 participant up to 8 people per class!
Book your class in advance!
Online registration for all classes closes 24 hours before class time. Classes less than 24 hours away are not available for booking. If you are having trouble signing up for a class, please email d6classroom@gmail.com
Hand Building VS Pottery Wheel classes
Hand-building is very fun! Great for young students and first-timers. It often gives the maker more freedom to be creative and sculptural. Carving and adding clay designs to the surface lets you create something truly unique! *Open to all ages!
The Pottery Wheel can help you make smooth, rounder vessels. It takes a few rounds of practice to control the form, but our talented instructors will guide you through each step! The experience and practice make the wheel fun! *Ages 9+
All students under 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is participating in the class.
How to purchase more than 1 seat
To sign up for multiple seats, change the number in the quantity box in the top right corner before selecting your class date and time.
No same-day registration.
Class prices include a non-refundable 50% deposit fee.
Late Attendance Policy
Our classes have a strict late attendance policy to ensure a productive learning environment for all students. Arriving late disrupts the flow of the lesson and may cause you to miss important material. If you are more than 20 minutes late, we can no longer accommodate you in class. We will not give refunds or reschedule late students.
Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy
Rescheduling:
A $20 rescheduling fee applies per participant for all class types. All rescheduling requests must be made via email at least 24 hours before class time. Requests under 24 hours cannot be accommodated.
4-week and 6-week students may request to reschedule one class session to a different class in the same week. To reschedule a 2nd time, a $20 rescheduling fee will apply. If you need to reschedule a trimming day class, we may not be able to accommodate you due to the timing of the scheduled kiln firing for your class. A $20 rescheduling fee applies when transferring a 4- or 6-week class to another month.
